Years 5 & 6 marks an important transition from the Junior School to the Middle School at Selwyn House School.
The Middle School years at Selwyn House, encourages students to develop greater independence and personal responsibility. Girls build strong academic skills, collaborate effectively, and develop the tools to be confident, reflective and principled learners with a deep awareness of others.

Years 5 & 6 Curriculum
The curriculum in Years 5 & 6 focuses on building fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding within and across all areas of learning.
Reading, writing and mathematics, continue to be strongly emphasised, alongside a range of specialist subject areas that enhances each student's learning.
The Middle School programme is designed to be engaging and relevant, preparing students with the skills and confidence needed for a seamless transition into the Senior School.

Pastoral Care & Wellbeing
Our daily Pastoral Care & Wellbeing programme ensures that every girl feels supported, valued and connected in all aspects of the School.
From the beginning, students form strong bonds with their teachers and peers, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose. Each Middle School student is partnered with a 'buddy' in a different year level, providing friendship, guidance and a connection to the wider school community.
