Years 3 & 4
Selwyn House helped me build strong friendships, made learning fun, even the hard topics. I was always provided incredible support and encouragement.

Peer Year 2022
Years 3 & 4 represent the exciting next step in the Junior School journey. Building on the strong foundations established during Years 1 & 2, students continue to grow in confidence and independence while deepening their understanding across all areas of the curriculum.
Selwyn House School equips students to become strong communicators, problem-solvers, and courageous risk-takers! Small class sizes ensure personalised attention, allowing each girl to thrive academically while building confidence and self belief.
In Years 3 & 4, girls further develop their ability to express themselves clearly and engage thoughtfully with the world around them and continue the long standing Selwyn House School tradition of 'Nature Diary'.

Junior School Curriculum
Our Junior School curriculum is guided by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and built on best practice teaching.
Learning in Years 3 & 4 continues to centre around the core curriculum subjects with a strong emphasis on reading, writing and mathematics. Students are encouraged and supported to challenge themselves across all areas of learning, deepening their understanding and making meaningful connections to each Unit of Inquiry.

Timetabled Subject Areas
From day one, across all year levels, students are supported by their classroom teacher and a variety of specialist teachers who are considered experts in their chosen fields.

Pastoral Care & Wellbeing
Our daily Pastoral Care & Wellbeing programme ensures that every girl feels supported, valued and connected in all aspects of the School.
From the beginning, students form strong bonds with their teachers and peers, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose. Each Junior School student is partnered with a Senior School 'buddy', providing friendship, guidance and a connection to the wider school community.
