Kia ora & Welcome

A message from our Principal – Julie Calder

Our goal at Selwyn House School is to equip each student with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a confident and capable learner. Successful learning involves making positive, healthy connections focused on collaboration, empathetic understanding and forming lifelong relationships.

Our only regret is that we didn't send our daughter to Selwyn House earlier.

Selwyn House helped me build strong friendships, made learning fun, even the hard topics. I was always provided incredible support and encouragement.

Selwyn House gave our daughter the most incredible foundation, not just academically but socially and emotionally. The IB Primary Years Programme nurtured her into a confident and capable learner, and it’s made the transition to high school so much smoother. She’s self-motivated, manages her own time well, and approaches challenges with confidence. I’d wholeheartedly recommend Selwyn House as a very special place for girls’ education.

Selwyn House has given our daughters a remarkable head start, not only academically and culturally, but in shaping them into well-rounded individuals. We are deeply grateful for the foundation it provided gave our daughter the most incredible foundation, not just academically but socially and emotionally.

Why a Girls' School?

Selwyn House School's approach to teaching, learning, and school life is intentionally structured around the unique ways girls learn, grow, and lead.

Whether a girl dreams of becoming an astronaut, ambassador, author, or anything in between, she needs to know, not just think, but truly know deep down, that nothing can stand in her way.

At Selwyn House, that belief is built into everything we do. From the classroom to the playground, from sport teams to the curriculum, every opportunity is intentionally designed to support, inspire and empower our girls.

Curious, Courageous, Resilient, Inspirational, are the values that underpin daily life at Selwyn House School. In our all-girls environment, students are supported and encouraged to be part of the community as leaders, risk takers, and communicators all while simultaneously discovering what they're capable of.

The result? Remarkable academic achievement, unshakable self-confidence, and a profound sense of purpose. Selwyn House School ensures that girls Thrive Today, Change Tomorrow!
