Excitement is building for the FPS International Competition in the USA

Our National Champion Community Problem Solving Team is hard at work preparing for the next stages of their project and of course, the International Competition at the University of Wisconsin in June!

In collaboration with the Christchurch City Council, the girls’ project promotes cycle lane usage in Christchurch. They have developed a scavenger hunt which involves steel bikes, decorated by local schools, being mounted around the bike lanes and in cafes for the public to find. The girls have just hand delivered and presented all of their bikes to local schools for decorating and once returned will start filming a promotional video for the Christchurch City Council website.

A huge thank you to Sean Hoare Director of East Coast Steelwork who has worked with the girls, helping them to turn their bikes drawings into laser-cut steel models ready to be decorated by our friends at Elmwood Normal School Fendalton Open-air School, Waimairi School, Paparoa Street SchoolIlam School and Medbury School Thank you for supporting our vision!

You can support the girls by buying a ticket to their Theme America evening on Saturday 12 May. Email georgina.hunter@pegasus.org.nz
