Aoife & friends ‘Walk with a Purpose’

We encourage Selwyn House students to take meaningful action to help those around them. A great example of this is the ‘Walk With a Purpose’ that Aoife May Crosby and some of her Year 6 friends will take part in on 19 November.

The students are raising funds to go towards the construction of a spring well, which will provide access to clean water for over 100 families in the extremely impoverished Rwenjaza community in Uganda.

Aoife will be leaving her home in Northwood at 6 am to walk 10 km. She will be joined by friends on a ‘walking bus route’ to their Selwyn House School in Merivale, where they will arrive in time to start the school day. The distance these students will be walking represents the distance some children in Uganda walk to collect water for their families each day.

We are proud of these students coming together for something much bigger than themselves, to make a lasting difference in the lives of others. Together with your support they would love to reach their goal to raise $3300 in order to pay for the construction of a well. If you would like to support Aoife and families in the Rwenjaza community in Uganda, please click here for her Give A Little page.

Well done girls – we wish you all the best with your action taking!
