In March, just before Lockdown, Annabel Dampier-Crossley (Year 4) competed at the National Horse of the Year in Hastings, and came away with some outstanding results.

The competition on both horses was strong with 20 competitors in each class all doing individual workouts for the judges.  Annabel was one of the youngest competitors in her classes, by 2 years. Annabel rode two ponies at Horse of the Year, her own pony Camptoun Loch Ness and Ridgevale Oyster Bay, which is owned by some friends. On both of her ponies she finished Top South Island competitor for her classes.

The results are as follows:

Rydgevale Oyster Bay – Reserve Champion First Ridden Welsh Pony of the Year. Also won Best Presented Welsh Pony

Camptoun Loch Ness
First Ridden Rider of the year – 8th
First Ridden Paced and mannered Pony of the year-  8th
First Ridden Pony of the year  – 9th

Annabel and her pony Camptoun Loch Ness received Reserve Champion First Ridden Pony in  the National NZ Showhorse Points Series.
