Transition to School

We have a very successful transition to school programme to help our children adapt to their next educational step. Girls enrolled to join Selwyn House School come to playgroup once a month within the grounds of the school. They are often joined by our Year 1 girls and parents are most welcome. As they near the time to come to the ‘big’ school they meet their Year 8 buddies. Their relationship with their buddies is a most important one as it helps to ensure their transition to school is seamless and happy.

In the term before they come to school, the girls come to school for half a day for four weeks. During this time their Year 1 teacher gets to know them and the visits help the girls to become familiar with the school environment.
