Our chef Martin produces nutritious and tempting menus for all meals – our Boarding House is known for its delicious meals. With the diversity of our students being taken into account when menus are being planned there is plenty of variety and the girls also love to have an input into what they would like to see on the menu.
Good food is one of the biggest factors in creating a happy environment in any boarding house. There are plenty of happy, giggling conversations with Martin talking with the girls about food and their likes and dislikes. The conversations are generally at afternoon tea as the boarders have a lovely ritual of sitting around the dining tables, talking about their day and eating. Martin is usually preparing the evening meal and chats to the girls. Vegetables are frequently part of the discussion and Martin was overheard telling them that sometimes they just have to eat them - one of the girls commented that she loved the food and she thought that Martin understood what children like to eat.
